The best little spot on the island! The swing and beachfront combo made this the best place for our heated rounds of Uno and late afternoon beers. We saw some damn good sunsets and shooting stars from this spot. Looking out the window now, Hong Kong is gloomy as ever and I wish we were here.
If any of you ever visit Koh Ngai, which I highly recommend, I suggest you stay at Coco Cottages which was the resort next to ours. We loved our hut but Coco's facilities, huts and snorkelling gear were a much better bargain! For authentic food, we wandered down the island most nights to a restaurant called Sea Taste, owned by a very interesting guy who used to live in HK during the 80's..small world! Just remember to bring a torch, the pitch black walk back to our hut was both eerie and amusing with all the crabs roaming the sands.
If you love snorkelling or diving Koh Ngai wont disappoint! We did plenty of it and there are beautiful coral reefs to see along the beach and on islands close by. We also swam through the Emerald Caves, which was both terrifying and spectacular, worth a visit if you want to see a beach unlike any other!
My last post from the island, turning off my holiday brain and getting back to city life.
